Tyres, plastic bags, building and roofing materials were found dumped along country lanes over the festive period.

The fly-tipping incidents are thought to have happened between Christmas and the New Year in Batts Road, Cobham, and Ifield Road, Shorne.

Due to the contents of the rubbish, a tipper vehicle is believed to have been used.

Gravesham Borough Council has since launched an appeal to track down the suspects.

A spokesman said: "The offenders dumped the waste in areas of natural beauty and showed no consideration for the environment or local community.

"Do you recognise the contents of this fly-tip? If you are having work carried out on your property and recognise this rubbish, you may have paid your builder to dispose of it for you?

"Please get in contact with us. Help us to catch these criminals."

Officers from the environmental enforcement team are asking for people who saw the offences or anything suspicious in the areas, or who have dash cam footage to contact them.

You can do so by emailing environmental.enforcement@gravesham.gov.uk.

It comes after a man was ordered to pay more than £1,000 following a fly-tipping offence in Scotlands Lane, Cobham, in February.

He was fined after failing to co-operate with the council's investigation and convicted at court last month.
