There is some disruption in East Milton Road, Gravesend today as repair work is carried out on a burst pipe.

Southern Water were called to deal with the problem and a traffic management system is currently in place, which is expected to remain throughout the weekend.

A spokesman for the water company apologised for the inconvenience caused.

“Our crew is working to fix the pipe as soon as possible and have bought in specialist equipment to prevent any properties in the area from losing water,” they said.

“A traffic management system is currently in place and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

“The actual repair is expected to be finished today, although traffic management may remain in place over the weekend as the road will need to be resurfaced.”
