Heavy traffic after car overturns on A2 near Bluewater

Motorists are facing heavy traffic on the A2 due to an overturned car near Bean.

It is blocked coast bound because of a three car collision at the B255 Bean Interchange and two of three lanes are closed.

There is heavy traffic on the A2 following the crash (19098744)

Traffic has been described as "a car park" by some drivers.

Highways England tweeted: "A2 coast bound at Bean (Bluewater) Junction we have a three vehicle road traffic collision, Red X are in effect @kentpoliceroads @kentfirerescue are on scene with ourselves. please take care through the area."

Police spokesman Martin Very said: "Police were called at around 8.20am regarding a report that a car had overturned on the coastbound carriageway of the A2 near Bean.

"Officers were joined by the fire and ambulance services at the scene where a woman was treated for injuries. She was taken to a local hospital for further medical attention."
