Charlie Sheringham's loan spell at Dartford from AFC Bournemouth coming to an end

Dartford finish their Blue Square Bet Premier campaign against Nuneaton on Saturday, a game which is likely to be Charlie Sheringham’s last appearance as a Dartford player.

The Bournemouth striker (pictured), who has ended the season on loan at Princes Park, is hoping to earn a new contract at Dean Court.

Four goals in nine appearances will have done his chances no harm as he bids to banish the memory of the foot injury which sidelined him for 14 months.

Burman said: “I’m pleased he’s got a smile back on his face. If he hadn’t had the injury, who knows what might have happened? He was in the Bournemouth first-team and he could still be there.

“We wanted to help him out, he’s come back and the feeling is mutual. He’s been superb and you wouldn’t have thought that he’d been away.

"Now it’s up to the people at Bournemouth whether they offer Charlie another contract.”
