Northfleet Fish Bar in Perry Street is plaice to be after winning award which puts them in UK’s top three per cent

A chippy in Northfleet is the plaice to be after winning an award which puts them in the UK’s top 3%.

Northfleet Fish Bar in Perry Street has regained the NFFF Quality Award.

The National Federation of Fish Friers represents the nation’s fish and chip shops, and uses the award as a way of raising standards.

Martin Can, Leah Goodwin, Costas Christou from Northfleet Fish Bar in Perry Street.

Owner Costas Christou has been in the industry for over 20 years and said: “We are all delighted.

“It goes to show that our high standards and many years’ experience hasn’t gone unnoticed.

“Of course, a special thanks has to go to the staff.”

Food quality, presentation, hygiene and cleanliness, staff training, equipment and frying and sales skills were all assessed as part of the award.
