A Gravesend woman is calling for answers after she says she found a piece of metal in a waffle ordered from dessert chain Creams.

Alexandra Davies complained after biting down on the unwanted find in a waffle ordered from Creams' Gravesend store.

"I took a bite out of it and it nearly broke my tooth," said Alexandra, 26, who estimated the piece of metal was about 2cm long. "It was really painful. I'm surprised I didn't break my tooth.

"My partner said 'what was that noise?' I didn't want to eat any more of it because you don't know what else is going to be in there."

Alexandra, a nursery practitioner from Covesfield, Gravesend, said she rang the store straight away and was told a new order would be sent out.

"Two hours later it hadn't arrived," she added. "Eventually they turned up and I told them to take it away.

"They didn't take it back and just left it at the door. It wasn't until we came home from work the next day that we noticed it. They must have left it outside and then someone brought it in.

"I contacted Creams but they've ignored all my emails."

The ice cream replacements was later found having been left outside the flat

She said the store eventually offered them £20 credit when her partner phoned them, but added: "I don't think that's good enough.

"I think there should be an explanation as to why there's metal in the food."

Creams in Gravesend has been approached for further information.
