The former Pier pub in Gravesend has reopened under the guise of The Middle Ei8ht.

On Friday, the grand opening took place with live music - something the West Street pub is boasting for the future.

Landlord Liam Jackson has managed several pubs before but this is the first one he’s properly run.

The 26-year-old said: “We’re marketing the place as the number one live acoustic pub in Gravesend.

"There will be live music but we’re also going to be playing all the sports as and when they come on.

"There’ll be open mic nights on a Wednesday between 7-11pm and everyone gets a free beer or a drink.”

The venture is very much a family run pub with Liam’s fiancée Holi, sister Chloe and brother in law Ryan all helping out.
