THE managing director of Gravesham Borough Council is leaving to take up a prestigious post in a London borough.

Jim Wintour, 60, was appointed head of the council’s staff on a three-year contract in November 2004.

He is to become director of neighbourhood services at the London Borough of Greenwich from November 12.

Mr Wintour said: “I have been proud to work for Gravesham. It has been a real pleasure to work with the citizens, councillors and staff and partners of Gravesham council.”

Council leader Cllr Mike Snelling said: “We will always be grateful for Jim’s unstinting dedication to Gravesham and his contribution to the delivery of excellent and improving services for the borough.”
