DETECTIVES have revealed the names of a couple found dead in their home.

Police officers were called to a ground floor flat at Boundary House, Victoria Road, Northfleet, on Wednesday last week.

They discovered that Brenda Lindley, 68, had suffered fatal head injuries and her 72-year-old husband Derek, had died from hanging.

Members of the couple's family have paid tribute to them. In a statement they said: "At this time, we are all in deep shock at the loss of our Mum and Dad.

"It is bad enough for anyone to lose one parent, but to lose both together has made it especially hard to accept.

"Brenda and Derek were loving parents and especially proud and loving grandparents and will be sadly missed."

Det Insp Neil Parker, who is leading the investigation, said: "This is a tragic situation in which a family have lost loving parents and my thoughts are with the family at this very difficult time."
