A creative dad has fashioned a 'cuddle curtain' so his children could hug their grandparents during lockdown.

Dad-of-three Thomas Ewing, 35, from Gravesend attached sleeves to a shower curtain in the garden of his family home.

His vision was so his children Amber, 12, seven-year-old Alex and Hudson, one, could safely hug their grandparents as the coronavirus pandemic continues.

Site engineer Thomas surprised his mum Vicky Ewing, 64, and step dad Jim Peck, 78, with his creation later that day.

Thomas said: "I did this because my mum was really missing the kids.

"They have visited us during lockdown by standing out by the front garden but you can't beat a cuddle with your nan.

"My mum had been desperate to visit us again so I set it up ready for when they arrived, they didn't have a clue that I was doing it.

"It was a little bit strange but overall a huge success, mum was very emotional and the kids loved it."

The KM Group is organising a campaign where grandparents can send messages to their children through our newspapers with a photo to tell them how much they miss them.
