Firefighters were called to reports of an electrical fire at a house in Perry Street, Northfleet, last night.
Two fire engines were sent to the property and crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, before carrying out salvage work and making the scene safe.
It's believed the fire started accidentally as a result of an electrical fault within a light fitting, in a ceiling void, where the fire was contained.
No casualties were reported.
