Tributes have been paid to a much-loved family man who was killed in a road crash while out cycling.

Father-of-the-bride Peter Stubbs was meant to be giving his daughter away in a few months.

Instead the family is now planning his funeral after the dad-of-two was killed last week.

Mr Stubbs was hit by a car while pedalling up the A20 London Road (Wrotham Hill) on Tuesday, May 4.

The 58-year-old had been due to walk his daughter Kate up the aisle in August.

Kate, 29, says she will still play the Temptations 'My Girl’ which her dad had chosen for a dance together. She described her dad as amazing, adding: “We are going to try and remember him as best we can. My mum is going to walk me down the aisle but on the other side to where my dad would have been.”

Mr Stubbs, a life-long cycling fanatic, was on his way back to the St Mary’s Way, Longfield home he shared with wife Marion for 22 years, when he collided with a black Hyundai at 7.50pm. He died from his injuries at a London hospital.

Anyone with information about the incident should call police on 01622 798538.
