Police were called to a fight involving a large group of young people in the town in Gordon Promenade East, near Canal Road, just before 9pm last night.

The crowd had dispersed when officers arrived at the scene and two teenage boys were located nearby with arm injuries. Inquiries remain ongoing into the circumstances.

The dispersal order has since been put in place which gives police additional powers to move on anyone causing a nuisance and, if necessary, to arrest those who return to the area once dispersed.
