A suspected drink driver fled the scene after a crash on a busy main road.

Police were called to the A226 Rochester Road, Gravesend following reports a car had collided with a kerb.

The driver had left before officers arrived at the scene near Abbey Road at around 8am.

A man in his 30s was later arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

Arrangements were made to recover the vehicle which occurred during rush hour traffic.

Normal traffic conditions have since resumed.
