Gravesend driver flees after crashing into wall by The Woodville theatre

A driver abandoned his vehicle after crashing into a town centre building.

Police have put up a cordon around the wall of the old police station in Gravesend on the corner of Windmill Street and Woodville Place.

Witnesses claim they saw a car in the wall at around 11.30pm.

One said: "A white car had gone straight through the bricks of the building site behind The Woodville."

Police confirmed they were called to reports of a car colliding with a building in Woodville Place.

A spokesman said: "Officers attended alongside Kent Fire and Rescue Service, but the driver had reportedly left the scene in another vehicle.

"Inquiries are ongoing to locate him."
