A2 driver near Dartford stopped by police for drinking Scrumpy Jack behind the wheel

A driver spotted swigging cider from a can behind the wheel on the A2 has been released without charge.

Police spotted the man on the A2 near Gravesend yesterday evening with a can of Scrumpy Jack in the vehicle.

The 60-year-old was arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol near the Pepperhill area at 7.53pm.

But following a breath test at the police station where he had been detained, he was released without charge.
