An Indian food stallholder is continuing to raise money for good causes in the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

Andy Singh, who runs a stall in Gravesend Borough Market, last month donated £1,500 to victims of the fire.

He pledged to dedicate one day per month for the next four months to worthy causes and his latest effort supported the London Fire Brigade.

Thanks to coverage in the Gravesend Messenger and on KentOnline, it was another great turnout, with young drummer Suraj Sanger also helping to bring in business from the High Street.

Mr Singh said: “There was great community spirit. Kent Fire and Rescue came with their truck to support me, and people really enjoyed the Indian food.”

A raffle offering free tickets to Paris, donated by Eurostar, was won by customer Emma Bull.

Mr Singh has already presented a cheque for £1,006 to Dowgate Fire Station in London. His next event is on Saturday, August 12, and will be in aid of the Kent Air Ambulance.
