Ebbsfleet lost their first Blue Square Bet South game at Stonebridge Road since August as Bromley took the honours in the north Kent derby on Saturday.

There were few chances early on in the game, although Fleet thought they might have had a penalty after five minutes when Ricky Shakes went down in the box.

The only goal of the first half came after 20 minutes when Ryan Dolby found left-back Harrison Dunk who advanced down the flank and into the area before unleashing a powerful shot that went between Fleet keeper Preston Edwards and the near post.

Shakes saw a header that ended up in the back of the net ruled out for offside, but the home side showed little firepower in the opening 45 minutes.

Fleet would have wanted to come out strongly after the break but only a minute into the second half Bromley added a second goal.

The ball was played up to Leon McKenzie and he found Harry Harding who scored with a shot from the edge of the box to double the visitors’ lead.

Fleet pulled a goal back after 62 minutes through a scrambled goal by Michael West to give them hope of getting something out of the game.

And Calum Willock (pictured) had a golden opportunity to secure a point, but he saw a penalty saved by keeper Craig Holloway in the 77th minute.
