Liam Daish is continuing to make decisions about the make-up of his squad – two weeks before the start of the new Blue Square Bet Premier season.

The Ebbsfleet boss (pictured) has signed defender Patrick Ada and offered terms to three members of last season’s squad, Lanre Azeez, Neil Barrett – now doubling as the club’s commercial manager – and Adam Williams. He has also released three trialists, Ashley Winn, Serge Makofo and Kirk Hudson.

The 27-year-old Cameroon-born Ada impressed during pre-season games against Tonbridge and Reading and Daish said: "He will be a big player for us, strong, athletic and quick and gives us physical strength which is something we have improved on throughout the squad.

"I tried to sign him on loan a few years ago when he was at Crewe and he was also part of a successful side at Histon."

Meanwhile, Daish has explained the reasons why he has switched dug-outs this season.

He said: "I like to make a change in some respect at the start of each season, not just in the team but around the ground, in the dressing room, the way we do things, just making sure we keep evolving.

"The main thing, though, is it means I will be further away from the fourth official."
