A fake KentOnline story surrounding a case of the Coronavirus in Gravesend's Costa Coffee has been circulating on social media.
The photoshopped image has been shared multiple times on Facebook and claims "the chain has become the latest victim of the Coronavirus."
A concerned reader got in touch with us to say: "I saw it shared on Facebook twice and this kind of thing really scares and worries people. I could see it wasn't on KentOnline's page.
"I'm happy it's turned out not to be true, it's awful that people would do this."
In light of the mass panic, the KM Group's Editorial director, Ian Carter has said: "To steer clear of fake news please check and read the news from our verified Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts and KentOnline."
There is also no confirmation from Darent Valley Hospital that two people are in isolation undergoing special treatment.
