A family had to flee their home after their television caught fire.

Two fire engines were called to The Hollies, off Miskin Way, in Gravesend, at 12.30pm today.

By the time crews arrived the flames had taken control of the living room and smoke had spread throughout the house.

The family, who had evacuated the house before crews arrived, were not injured.
