Family rescued after letterbox fire attack

A FAMILY and their dog were rescued from their home after flammable liquid was put through its letterbox.

Firefighters were quick to get to the blaze in Rose Street, Northfleet, managing to save two children and two adults, thought to be in their 20s, before it escalated.

The fire, which broke out just after midnight on Wednesday, was soon under control, limiting the damage to the area around the door.

Police also attended the scene and it is being treated as suspicious.

The family were treated for smoke inhalation.
