Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames coming from the kitchen.

One person was passed into the care of paramedics as a precaution after inhaling some smoke.

A fire spokesman added: "Our volunteer response team also attended to offer advice and support to affected residents. The cause is not yet known."

Crews left the scene just after 6pm.
