Firefighters are tackling two fires in Rochester Road, Gravesend

Firefighters are at the scene of a fire in a shed which spread to a garage.

A house three doors up from this on Rochester Road was also reported to be on fire.

Crews from Thames-side are at the garage fire, which was reported at 2.20pm, and crews from Strood and Medway are at the scene of the house fire.

The house fire was reported about 10 minutes later.

Traffic along Rochester Road, near the Dickens estate, is understood to be slow moving coming into Gravesend because of the incident.

Reporter Alex Matthews said: "One lane is partially closed outside the junction of Rochester Road and Dickens Road due to two fire engines being parked. Police are directing traffic."

A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "There are no reports of any injuries and the cause of the fire is not yet known."
