GRAVESEND & Northfleet kept alive their chances of winning the BOSE Kent Senior Cup for the third consecutive year with a 3-2 semi-final victory at Fisher Athletic last night.

Andy Ford's side got off to a good start and took the lead after 24 minutes when Liam Hatch, who was given a rare start, burst onto a Matt Lee through ball before dispatching it with the outside of the right boot.

Fisher showed plenty of spirit and, after hitting the woodwork, they equalised six minutes before the interval when Lee Huggins slotted home. In a game of huge turning points, Fisher went into a 2-1 lead early in the second period when, against the run of play, Huggins struck his second goal of the evening after Gravesend had failed to clear a long pass.

But the Fleet weren't to be denied as Paul Booth got his name on the scoresheet on 77 minutes when he acrobatically headed in Jimmy Jackson's inviting centre following an excellent move.

And with the visitors now full of confidence, they won the tie four minutes later when second half substitute Craig Wilkins converted Perry Spackman's deflected cross.

The Fleet will now meet Ashford or Margate in the final.
