DAISH: "Experience counts for a great deal in the Conference"

BOBBY BOWRY has been handed the job of anchoring Gravesend’s midfield as manager Liam Daish summoned his wealth of experience at the start of the club’s first full-time campaign.

The 34-year-old former Crystal Palace, Millwall and Colchester player signed a one-year, full-time contract and made his debut in Saturday’s friendly at Folkestone.

In all, he made 270 league and cup appearances for the three clubs.

Daish took the decision to sign the St Kitts and Nevis international after watching him train.

"Experience counts for a great deal in the Conference," said Daish.

Bowry started his career with Crystal Palace, who signed him from Carshalton in 1992. He was sold to Millwall for £220,000 in July, 1995 before moving to Colchester on a free transfer in 2001.

He made more than 90 league and cup appearances for the Us in the three years he was at Layer Road.
