A burglar successfully outfoxed police - but only by virtue of actually being a fox.

Beyond that, the intruder at the Imperial Business Estate in Gravesend, did a pretty bad job of remaining undetected - and was caught 'red-pawed' when officers turned up in the early hours of this morning.

Kent Police was called at 12.29am to reports that a burglary was possibly in progress at a business premises on the estate, but officers arrived to discover a juvenile fox tearing up a poster inside the building.

Police said the fox had somehow got into the building, causing the alarm to activate.

There was no evidence of any criminal activity, and the key holder for the building was contacted.
