The grandmother of Gravesend Bond girl Gemma Arterton has been found dead at her home.

The Quantum of Solace and St Trinian’s actress, who was a student at Gravesend Grammar School, is believed to have been told the news on Saturday.

Her 70-year-old nan, Helen Sarfas, was found with a fatal stab wound at her home in Beechings Way, Gillingham, on Friday.

A spokesman for Kent Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious and officers are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with it.

A spokesman for the 23-year-old actress, from Northfleet, said: “It’s a private matter.”
