Gravesend crash

A motorcyclist has been taken to Darent Valley Hospital with serious leg injuries after a crash in Gravesend this morning.

A Honda motorcycle and a Rover car were involved in the incident at Old Road West, close to the Texaco petrol garage at around 9.40am.

The driver of the car, in his 80s, from Northfleet suffered minor bruising and was taken to hospital for a check up.

The motorbike rider, in his 40s, is also from Northfleet.

The air ambulance was called out but both were taken to hospital by land.

Kent Police are investigating the cause of the smash.

Road closures were put in place by police at Dashwood Road’s junction with Bartlett Road; Darnley Road junction with Essex Road and Old Road West junction with Darnley Road.
