Gravesend suffered their first defeat of the season in National League 3 London & South East on Saturday.

They were demolished 70-28 by Dorking, who have taken over the league leadership from Canterbury on bonus points.

The Surrey side scored 46 unanswered points in the first half, but Gravesend restored some pride with a defiant second-half performance which produced tries for Terry Papworth (2), Scott Curley and Sox Stevens.

Dorking, however, continued to accumulate points at the other end, mostly through the boot of Ed Gardner who finished with a personal haul of 35 points.
