Gravesend take on Old Dunstonians Picture: Nick Johnson

Gravesend reached the final of the Shepherd Neame Kent Cup for the third consecutive year with a 37-21 victory over Old Dunstonians at Rectory Field on Saturday.

They will play London 1 South side Tonbridge Juddians in the final on Sunday, May 1 at Canterbury.

Dave Dorton kicked a penalty to put the home side ahead in the semi-final and the lead was stretched to 8-0 when Tony Whitehead went over for the first of Gravesend's five tries

Ashley Moorey touched down to extend the advantage and although Dunstonians hit back with a converted try, a penalty from Dorton gave Gravesend a 16-7 lead at the break.

Gravesend increased the tempo of the game from the restart and were 30-7 in front after just four minutes, with converted tries from Jamie Harris and Adam Bishop.

The visitors scored their second converted try to make the score 30-14 but Gravesend responded quickly, hooker Terry Papworth brushing aside the defence to score.

Old Dunstonians went over for a third converted try for a final score of 37-21.
