THERE was no sign of Alan Titchmarsh but Charlie Dimmock proved a real ground force when she visited Gravesend while filming for a new tv series this week.

As part of the third series of River Walks on ITV, the green fingered star, who sprung to fame as Titchmarsh's sidekick in gardening show Ground Force, walked part of the Saxon Shore way along the Thames from Higham.

After visiting the famous statue of Pocahontas in Gravesend, she hopped on a tug boat and crossed the river to the Tilbury Docks.

The series starts in January 2008.
