Residents' sleep was disturbed yesterday while a police helicopter hunted two burglars in Gravesend.

The men broke into a house in Cobsdene, and stole a television, purse and the family's Volvo S80 car.

The car was later recovered after a crash, together with the TV, but despite the helicopter's efforts the two men got away.

Detectives want anyone who saw people acting suspiciously in the Cobsdene, The Glades or Ifield Way area of Gravesend to contact them by ringing 101 or anonymously calling Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
