Gas problem near Higham causes closure of rail line between Gravesend and Strood

Published: 12:00, 14 April 2014

No trains have been running between Gravesend and Strood after a gas problem.

Southeastern made the announcement this morning after an issue was discovered near Higham and the gas board said it would be unsafe to run trains.

It has been affecting routes between London St Pancras International and Faversham, as well as between London Charing Cross and Gillingham.

Southeastern has admitted displaying out-of-date punctuality information

Replacement buses are being organised by Southeastern between Gravesend and Strood.
