Elliott Reid was thrown out on the street following a family feud.

That was six years ago when he was aged 19 and had nothing but a suitcase.

Even that didn’t have any wheels. Waiting for a friend to pick him up, he swore something good would come out of the experience.

With a sports massage qualification and an old massage table, he set up business as a home masseur.

“I am representative of so many young men and women in Gravesham. I came from extremely humble beginnings and with zero investment, and built a company that has gone from strength-to-strength every year." — Elliott Reid

This meant dragging his table everywhere, just like that suitcase.

And that was the beginning of Revitalize Health and Fitness Clinic. His business now offers osteopathic care for injuries and pain, personal training and sports massage therapy.

It also supports the public by providing free health and fitness advice.

The company took off and soon outgrew its base and Elliott eyed up premises at The Trocadero at 168 Windmill Street, Gravesend.

This enabled him to expand into boxing and employ a new physiotherapist, yoga teacher and osteopath.

Many of the clients are strongmen and women, athletes and well-known boxers.

Elliott is a fan of Muhammed Ali, describing him as not only a great boxer but a great human being and people’s champ.

He said: “At 25 years of age, I refurbished a 300-year-old pub in five months.

“And over the previous four years have positively impacted the health of more than 2,000 Gravesham residents and doubled our turnover every year.

“We have helped people avoid joint replacements, heart surgery, strokes and diabetes and these aren’t just reserved for our paying customers.

“I am representative of so many young men and women in Gravesham.

“I came from extremely humble beginnings and with zero investment, and built a company that has gone from strength-to-strength every year.

“I love business. I love helping people.

“Anyone who follows us online at www.revitalizeclinic.co.uk, or comes to our free events can hugely benefit when it comes to their health and fitness.

“And we haven’t even started to talk about profit yet.”

Revitalize is among the entrants in this year’s Gravesham Business Awards, supported by the Messenger.
