The power cut, which happened at around 3.15pm has affected other areas nearby, including Northfleet and Chalk.

UK Power Networks have said just under 500 people were been affected in 10 different postcode areas.

However, they managed to restore power to 222 customers within 10 minutes.

A spokesman for the operator said: "We can usually divert power around the fault onto a healthy part of the network with this kind of fault, and estimate to have the power back on between 5pm and 6pm."

More as we get it.
