A GANG of four men used two 4x4 vehicles to steal a cash machine from a store in a Kent town in the early hours of Friday morning.

The masked men drove a Jeep Cherokee and a Land Rover Discovery into Bob's Stores, Lower Higham Road, Gravesend, at around 2.30am, before making off with the floor-mounted machine.

The owner of the store challenged the gang. He suffered minor injuries when he was struck by one of the vehicles as they left. Three parked vehicles were also damaged.

The dark-coloured Land Rover was seen heading down Chalk Road towards Rochester Road with its back door open dragging a chain.

Police are appealing for information. Anyone who can help is asked to contact DS Mike Worrall on 01474 565155, or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
