POLICE closed off the one-way system in the centre of a town today in what was originally thought to be serious incident.

Armed police officers surrounded Harmer Street in Gravesend but later reported a domestic incident had taken place.

Earlier police closed roads going in and out of the town centre while motorists delayed in the traffic were asked to turn off their engines and wait.
