A large fire on an industrial estate across the River Thames can be seen across parts of Kent.

The fire broke out at around 12.30pm today and on the Globe Industrial Estate in Grays, Essex, with smoke visible in Northfleet, Gravesend and other parts of North Kent.

Video footage shows dark smoke billowing from the unit, and Essex Fire Service are currently at the scene in Towers Road, Grays.

They have advised those living and working in the area to keep windows and doors shut, due to large amounts of smoke coming from the scene.

Firefighters are currently battling a fire measuring approximately 35 metres by 35 metres.

Crews are fighting it from the ground and from above using an Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP).
