Gravesend remain the front-runners in London 1 South after outclassing struggling Maidstone 58-7 on Saturday.

Gravesend were ahead within a minute when lock Ziggy Stevens crashed over near the posts, debutant Dave Dalton converting to put them 7-0 ahead.

Hooker Warren McKee eased through for the second on 13 minutes and Sox Stevens made it 17-0 soon after.

From the restart, Gravesend were momentarily in disarray and Stones winger Neil Graves ran in unopposed and Ryan Mills converted to make it 17-7. Rob Hussey forced his way over for an unconverted try before Stones’ Mike Molloy was sin-binned.

After half-time, Nolan beat four defenders to score and Dalton kicked the extras for a 29-7 lead. Tom Bishop added two scores before Maidstone had another man sin-binned and Forbes added a try which Dalton converted for 46-7.

The Bishop brothers added a try apiece and Dalton kicked his fourth conversion before Stones lost their third man to the sin bin.
