A man has been charged after four break-ins in five days.

James Nevin was arrested by officers who executed a warrant at an address in Vicarage Park, Plumstead.

Police were acting on intelligence which had identified him as a suspect for the burglaries, which were committed in Dartford, Meopham, West Kingsdown and Crayford last month.

The 42-year-old, of no fixed address, has since been charged with;

• Burglary with intent to steal from a home in Birchwood Road, Dartford, between 10am and 2.10pm on Friday, May 11.
• Burglary of a home in Wrotham Road, Meopham, between 8am and 7.20pm on Friday, May 11. A quantity of jewellery and stamps are reported to have been taken.
• Burglary of a home in Crowhurst Lane, West Kingsdown, between 10am and 7.10pm on Sunday, May 13. A quantity of jewellery and watches are reported to have been taken.
• Burglary of a home in Station Road, Crayford, between 1.30pm and 3.45pm on Wednesday, May 9. A car and a mobile and a mobile phone are among the items reported to have been stolen.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, June 6.
