Man and woman assaulted

Police in The Overcliffe after an assault

A man has been arrested after a man and woman suffered injuries in an early morning attack.

Police have arrested a 54-year-old Gravesend man on suspicion of wounding with intent after a man and woman were found in The Overcliffe, Gravesend at about 2am on Thursday.

The attack is not thought to have happened in The Overcliffe.

A police spokeswoman said that the man had received injuries to the head "reportedly caused by a sharp instrument." They are not thought to be life-threatening.

The man was taken to Darent Valley Hospital.

Two police cars and a van were still at the scene at 9am on Wednesday.
