Crash in Mulberry Road, Northfleet sees police arrest driver after knives found

A man was arrested after police found two knives in his car following a crash.

Officers were called to a collision involving two vehicles in Mulberry Road, Northfleet on Tuesday morning.

One driver, aged 56, was arrested when the items were found after the incident at 9.45am.

But on inspection by police it was established the knives were being carried for legitimate work purposes and they decided no offences had been committed.

The man was released from arrest but was reported for having no insurance.

The road was blocked for a few hours while the vehicles were recovered.

No injuries were reported.
