A man is due before magistrates after being charged with several offences after he allegedly drove the wrong way along a motorway.
Kevin Andrews, 29, was arrested after police pursued a suspected stolen van during the early hours of Sunday morning.
The vehicle, which was thought to have earlier been taken from an address in Godinton, Ashford, was eventually brought to a controlled stop on the A227 in Vigo.
Nobody was injured during the incident but a police vehicle was thought to have been damaged during the pursuit.
Andrews, of Barnfield Park, Ash, Sevenoaks was charged on Monday with aggravated vehicle taking, vehicle damage of £5,000 or more, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, failing to stop a vehicle when required to do so, driving without insurance and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
Andrews is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court later today.
