Man charged after armed police incident in Vigo Road, Vigo

A man has been charged with multiple driving offences after armed officers were called to a road.

Peter Taylor, of Simpson Road, Snodland , was arrested after a Ford Fiesta was abandoned in Vigo Road, Vigo , at around 4pm last Wednesday.

A pursuit was authorised after a car failed to stop for officers in York Parade, Tonbridge .

A search, which was assisted by a police helicopter, was carried out to find the driver.

On Monday, Taylor was charged with dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.

The 28-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates' Court the following day, where he was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on November 10.
