The collision between a Land Rover and a van in Harvel Lane, Harvel, near Meopham, happened at about 2pm yesterday.

The air ambulance was called to the collision

A man is believed to have been crushed beneath his own car following a crash yesterday.

The collision between a Land Rover and a van in Harvel Lane, Harvel, near Meopham, happened at about 2pm yesterday.

According to one witness, the Land Rover appeared to have swerved up a bank.

When the driver was climbing out, the vehicle appeared to have rolled on top of him.

The man was conscious but groaning and a witness at the scene said he was complaining of pain in his hip and leg.

The Kent Air Ambulance was at the scene, having landed in an adjacent field, as well as two land ambulances, four police patrol cars, an unmarked police car and a fire engine.

Harvel Lane was completely blocked, with police stopping vehicles from accessing the road.

Diesel was also believed to have leaked from one of the vehicles onto the road.
