A man who knocked his former partner unconscious has been jailed for two years.

Brian Warrington, 28, of Poplar Avenue, Gravesend, was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday December 16, having been charged with actual bodily harm, battery and two counts of breaching a restraining order.

The court heard Warrington turned up at his former partner’s home in Artillery Row, Gravesend, on Friday September 9 2016, before punching and leaving her unconscious with facial injuries.

Brian Warrington has been jailed for two years for assaulting his former partner.

The victim regained consciousness and ran out of the house, away from Warrington, who then left the property.

The following weekend, on Saturday September 17, Warrington approached the victim as she walked along Alanbrooke, Gravesend, and asked her if she had reported the previous incident.

When she said she had, he punched her in the face again, inflicting an eye injury which required stitches.

Kent Police carried out a number of enquiries to locate Warrington, and listed him as one of Kent’s Most Wanted suspects, before he was arrested on Sunday November 6.

Investigating officer, detective constable Phil Pead, said: "Warrington inflicted pain and suffering on his victim on more than one occasion causing her to fear for her safety and I am pleased he has received a lengthy sentence.
