Michael West left Stonebridge Road on Tuesday night with the match ball tucked under his arm as a memento of his first senior hat-trick in Ebbsfleet’s 4-0 FA Trophy win against Bromley.

The 19-year-old former youth team player (pictured) is a talent in Liam Daish’s emerging side and his treble moved him into double figures for the season.

West said: "I was happy with it and enjoyed the second one the most, the chest down and the volley.

"I score goals like that in training, and am now doing it on the pitch. The boys all signed the ball and I’m looking forward to taking it home.

"It was a great win for us, they are top-of-the-table but we made them look average."

Fleet boss Daish added: "Westy is learning all the time. There are still a few things in his game he needs to iron out and adapt but he is enjoying his football, has got the respect of his team-mates, which is always good and his work rate is second to none."

Ever-present skipper Paul Lorraine went off with a shoulder problem against Bromley but should be fit to face Hampton and Richmond on Saturday. Ashley Carew returns after a one-match ban.
