A full-scale search and rescue was launched after a nine-year-old boy went missing for hours.

Around 100 people are thought to have joined in the hunt for the missing youngster, who went missing before 9pm last night.

Firefighters joined police in the search for the boy who had gone missing from a campsite on White Horse Road in Meopham.

It was called off after five hours when the youngster was found safe and well, just before 5am, in Trosley Park.
