Another explosive demolition is scheduled to take place at Tilbury Power Station this week.

The latest work, the ninth so far, will take place at the site, opposite Gravesend, at 9am on Thursday.

The controlled demolition will simultaneously bring down two separate units, which are made of steel and concrete and about 43 metres long by 14 metres wide and 27 metres high.

It is the other half of the structure brought down in November last year and is considered to be low impact.

The other main structures, including the boiler houses, are scheduled for explosive demolition through 2018 and into 2019.

The complete demolition of the site is expected in 2019.
